I am working towards my master’s degree as well in Information Systems. I am hoping to be more involved with the Knights and the corporation while I am stationed here in Washington DC.

I’m thankful, grateful, and humbled to be under consideration for a position on the Mount Vernon Columbus Club (also commonly referred to as “the corporation”) board as a director. The principles of the Knights of Columbus - Charity, Unity, and Fraternity - are also at the core of the operations of the corporation, and have thus enabled and sustained the growth of the corporation. My 11+ years with the Knights in service to the council as both a member and an officer, have shown my commitment to these principles and demonstrated my leadership skills. I think these are both important to have as a director for the corporation. Additionally, my experience as Chairman of the Board during my term as Grand Knight gave me insight into the operations of the corporation.
We have been able to provide so much to those in need through our combined efforts, and in order to maintain our amazing track record of fundraising and providing space for charitable works, we will need help. I believe the challenge for the board and the corporation membership over the coming years will be to look for ways to expand the volunteer base upon which the operations of the corporation and the council depend. I want to continue to develop relationships with members and benefactors, sustaining the principled membership of the council and corporation. As a director, I think I could put my knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to use in finding ways to increase volunteering and perpetuate our mission of helping others, together, and having a good time while doing it.

Currently, I serve as the Chairman of the Outdoor Construction and Planning Committee. Inside the building, I take the lead resolving equipment and plumbing issues such as the replacement of our ice maker, our two reach-in refrigerators, the water fountain, and the installation of a water pressure regulator for our building’s main water supply. I serve as a bar manager supporting special events by selecting craft beers for five beer taps, implementing a maintenance plan for bi-monthly beer-line cleaning (at no cost to the Corporation or Council) and resolving long-standing refrigerant issues. My time spent supporting our bingo operation enabled me to accumulate 290 volunteer hours for charity.
